Default question re mulch

hi all, what are the group's opinions on what is the best time to apply
mulch, or doesn't it matter, Melbourne area, thanks any feedback

g'day whitememphis,

i use it continaully as it is needed, between crops is a regular time
i do, and now coming into spring a lot of the mulch i layed in the
beginning of winter is in need of refreshing.

Doesn't really matter, if it needs it, do it. If existing mulch has broken
down and soil is showing do it then. Probably best too, to do it before heat
of summer so as you get good use out of it in regards to keeping evaporation
down.
Give the garden a good water, apply mulch, then water mulch is the best way
too.
