[IBC] YOUR IBC TREASURY REPORT
YOUR BONSAI TREASURY REPORT
It is time we considered our treasury's status. It has been quite awhile since I have asked the list for contributions. This can be credited to the generosity of some listers in the past months, and our sponsors whom we all recognize from their advertising on our forum. They are folks whom we trust to supply us with our bonsai requirements, providing us with what is appropriate to fill our needs. They are the greatest and most reliable of support to this list. The list, regardless of our generous members, would not be supported with its present collections alone. Be aware that there are costs that must be met regularly. Every three months I pay that bill with relief and pleasure that we care enough to do our part so it is there the next morning with our lively forum and the lists emails and helpful exchanges. We are okay for a short time. Enjoy that we are for another half year, but realize that is two payments and time goes fast, with sometimes unexpected and sudden costs. Please give attention to our sponsors' ads when you can. Their success is our best support. When you look ahead at time passing and feel it is your time to add to the treasury you can pay by check to my address below, or you can use Paypal, if you prefer. An average for contribution is from $25-35, if that helps your decision. Do what you can to keep IBC going. Lynn, Treasurer Make checks payable to Lynn Boyd, IBC Tres. Mail checks to: Lynn Boyd 206 Lakeland Dr. Lakeside, OR 97449 Be sure to include your email address so I can acknowledge receipt of your donation. ************************************************** ****************************** ++++Sponsored, in part, by Kevin Bailey++++ ************************************************** ****************************** -- The IBC HOME PAGE & FAQ: http://www.internetbonsaiclub.org/ -- +++++ Questions? Mike,
Yep, we'd like to spend every dollar on trees! Until we think of the help we get from having our own Dr. Nina and the experts on the forum, and . . it goes on and on - It just gets worth more the longer I am here to use or just enjoy it. On Paypal address it to Lynn Boyd, IBC ------------------- From: "Mike Rogers" To: "Lynn Boyd" ; Sent: Sunday, August 28, 2005 8:29 PM Subject: [IBC] YOUR IBC TREASURY REPORT if you play with bonsai-you've got expendable income , with that being said , kick down some $$$$$$$$ nothings free and clubs are only as good as their members. Our Paypal address it to Lynn Boyd, IBC And what, you may ask, are you paying for if you elect to donate to support the Internet Bonsai Club (IBC)? 1. The mailing list. It is hosted very efficiently and safely by the folks at LSoft. You can't imagine how much spam (or even viruses and worms) their filter systems keep off the mailing list. (You folks who read on rec.arts.bonsai gain that benefit, too, because all mail FROM the list to R.A.B. goes though their filters.) 2. The Archives. We maintain at all times about 3-years' worth of archives of list and RAB messages so you can go back and search for those important posts on brown junipers, dying serissa, etc. http://home.ease.lsoft.com/Archives/bonsai 3. The IBC home page (address below) that includes a growing Knowledge Base of valuable information on growing, designing, and protecting your bonsai, and our galleries, which have turned into one of the most popular (if not THE most popular) bonsai sites on the World Wide Web. What are you NOT you paying for with your valuable contributions? You aren't paying a cent to a growing number of volunteers who help keep things going on the list and on the website -- Shelly Hurd, list manager; Terry Robbins, webmaster; half a dozen IBC gallery moderators; the folks who oversee the weekly IBC chat sessions; the ones who write the informative articles in our Knowledge Base; and others, like me, who simply meddle in everything. Mind you . . . NO ONE IS REQUIRED TO DONATE A CENT to the IBC. It has always been a free part of the Internet and hopefully, it always will be free. But "free" doesn't mean "without costs." Your help will be appreciated -- A LOT. There's a direct Paypal link on the web site. Or, again, Lynn's address is: Lynn Boyd.
