I'd put it in a clear plastic bag water it good and
mist the inside of the bag. And cross my fingers that
new shoots would come out.

Danny,

I tried to reply direct but could not use the e-mail address. I think you
are doing all you can and you can only hope that it will be okay. You are
there now so you can water and keep an eye on it and I think there is not
much else to do.

I live in Basingstoke so I am not far away.

Hi Everyone



I went away on holiday for a fortnight, leaving my neighbour to water my

bonsai, which were all outdoors. All of them are still fine, apart from my

Carmona Macrophylla. About half of the leaves have gone a very dark brown

and the other half a shrivelled green. Looks like lack of watering to me,

but everything else is OK. I haven't spoken to my neighbour yet.



I have stripped off the dark brown leaves but have left the green ones for

the moment. The soil is moist and I am being careful not to over water it.



Any ideas on what might have happened, how to tell if the tree is still

alive, and what to do with it now?



I am in London, England, where it is starting to get a bit cold overnight so

the bonsai are now indoors overnight and if it's a nice day then I let them

out to breathe a little.

I have been having great difficulty sending you a message.

I tried to reply directly, but could not. I think you have done all you can
and now just have to hope it recovers. as you are there and able to water as
needed I think it has the best chance of

recovering. I never trust anyone to water my trees I take them with me when
I am away.

I'll continue to gently water and mist (as Ben suggested) the tree and see
what happens.
