[IBC] Prunus besseyi, Western Sand Cherry
Does anyone have experience with this tree? Any special care considerations?
I'll be grateful for any help. Have a nice day. Pat Not with bessyi, but with other shrubby Prunus species, particularly P. depenna and P. maritima. They *look* like they'd make good bonsai, but they are a little unpredictable, losing branches that you'd like to keep. So I'd treat them like you'd treat a quince- grow them in a style where lopping off a big branch won't be noticeable!
