It is possible that I will lose power, but live west of I-95 on high ground
so I don't expect to leave my home and trees.
I have lived in Florida all of my 61+ years and have never felt the need to
leave my home. I

Not yet. Charlie is still south of Jamaica. It is expected to hit
SW Florida sometime Friday.

Tropical Storm Bonnie, in the Gulf of Mexico, will hit the coast
about 60 miles southwest of us tomorrow morning, though we don't
expect it to be too bad. It MAY get to hurricane strength just
before landfall, but should fall apart once it is all over land. 40
mph winds and LOTS of rain is all we have to look for.

Charlie, on the other hand, is likely to be quite a bit stronger when
it comes ashore neat Ft. Myers on Friday. Then it is supposed to run
up the center of the state, getting weaker, before exiting into the
Atlantic somewhere near St. Augustine. (Of course that's a long time
away -- in hurricane terms -- so who knows?)

Too bad the third storm of the year wasn't named Clyde, rather than
Charlie.
