Default [IBC] [ADENIUM] Hurricane Frances

I ask you keep all us Florida growers in your thoughts and prayers. My
best to you all.

I am about 18 miles inland, almost due west of where the Space Shuttle
launches from. Depending upon where the storm goes (no one can tell yet) I
will see more of less effect. At the moment it looks like I will be on the
northern edge of hurricane force winds at least for a while. What makes this storm
different is its size, that is the area covered by hurricane force (75 mph or
greater) and tropical storm force (35 mph to 74 mph). Another problem will
its rate of movement and how long we are subjected to these winds. For some
rain will also be a problem with resulting flooding. Many homes have been built
in low lying areas that have not flooded in a long time, but the combination
of Charley and Frances might tip the balance. (I will not have the flooding
problem since I am on a prehistoric sand dune line.) (The joke about my soil
[sand) is that when you water you can hear a sucking sound as the water percolates
through the sand.)
I will try to keep all my friends posted for as long as possible, but we
normally lose power early in a storm. (A lot of tall sand pines.)
