[IBC] Cats OT
In a message dated 7/6/05 12:01:51 AM, Nina writes:
My significant other chased the deer away, and is trying to convince me the cat was protecting the bonsai. Could be. Cats are very possessive and territorial. Does your cat ever rub her face up against any of your trees? This is a cat's way of marking her possessions with a scent we don't smell: my owner, my house, my friend, etc. She may have been protecting the house & property. Busta the Lab is definitely Kasi the cat's dog. They kiss & lick each other several times a day. Last year we kept another dog for a few months for a neighbor who had a fire. A couple of times he violated dog etiquette & Busta growled at him. Kasi, who has a slight hearing problem, heard this from two rooms away, & came tearing in ready to attack the dog she perceived as threatening HER Busta.
