Does anyone eat weeds? I love dandelions, lambsquarters and purslane!

I've been putting purslane in my salads for years. Not too wild about
dandelions, lambsquarters are good. I love dressing up salads with
edible flowers like johnny jump-ups.

You should try pulling the green off the dandelion flower and putting
the petals in your salads. Collect the dandelion seeds, dry them and
sprout them as you would any other seeds. They are great in soups and
salads.
How about those violets that grow in some yards? They are yummy, too!
Have you tried purslane pickles?
Eddie

Yeah I've been doing it for years now. Feels a bit cheeky sometimes because most of the work I do is garden maintenance. I end up eating a portion of the plants (weeds) I'm being paid to remove. There are some great and unusual snacks to be had in the garden from wild strawberries, ransoms garlic, young tender dandelion, etc etc..... Some edible weeds are also incredibly good for you and can contain beneficial properties not normally found in more commercial foods. Dandelion is great for the liver and kidneys, so's milk thistle.
I've spent many a dinner washing a wild garden snack ready for a salad with olive oil, lemon juice and balsamic vinegar.
