I planted 19 different types of tomato seeds a little over two weeks ago. Of
each, I planted 3 or 4 seeds even though I wanted to keep only one of each. The
extras were planted in the seed starters in case several bad seeds existed in
one or more packages. Most germinated within 2 or 3 days.

Last night I removed the extra seedlings and kept the plant in each cell that
appeared most robust. It broke my heart to see all those wasted plants.

This morning, two additional plants had germinated in the Glamour cell, one more
appeared in the Bush Celebrity cell and two more in the Sweet 100's cell.

I ask you, are these plants engaged in some sort of act of defiance? Are they
poking fun at me? What then?
