Pictures from my garden
Every year I keep a photo journal of some of the highlights in my
garden. This spring, we planted a small Tehranivee Sweet Cherry in April. When it flowered, I was thrilled, but didn't expect to get any fruit, this being it's first year and all. But the fruit kept growing .... some of them shrivelled up and fell off, but by the end of July we had a big bowl of cherries. Medium big, sweet, crunchy and tasty ... everything you could want in a cherry. I was in heaven and hope it bears like this every year. We harvested the hardneck Fish Lake Garlic a few weeks ago, and I pulled most of the shallots today. The raspberries have been excellent and plentiful, as are the wild black currants ... which are scaring me, honestly, because there are so many ... and I feel compelled to pick them. Only one marrow squash growing on the four plants in the antique wheelchair planter. Lots of tomatoes, but so far, no ripe ones. This is my Edibles page which I've updated for July: http://www3.sympatico.ca/great/tempee.html There's a link to my garden page, for those interested in blooms, but here it is anyway: http://home.ca.inter.net/~stevedor/EGarden3.html Nice to see that some of the regulars are still here. Greetings, EV |
