Default potted pepper plants prematurely poop-out

Five days ago, all of seven potted peppers (2 jalepino, 5 bell) began
to wilt, and then died. They are now dead, deceased, no longer among
us, they have ceased to be, they are "late" plants. This after saving
their seeds from last year, germinating them, buying nice big clay pots
for them, planting them in nice soil, watering them, fertilizing them,
moving them around so they get sunshine. This after posting here,
searching the internet, talking with friends on how best to care for
them.

I have 10 plants left in the ground. They seem to be doing fine,
except only one has anything closely resembling a pepper (a tiny green
nub half the size of an acorn). What do you bet they all are doomed?
