He reigns from a high spot in a tree overlooking my back yard. He puffs up
his face feathers to make himself look bigger & tougher, and he'll scan
everything that happens in the yard being especially vigilant if a rival
male hummer encroaches on his realm. As soon as that happens he's off to
chase the interloper away. If it's a female like Sally she can stay, but
he's fickle and will mate with any female that comes along. The little guy
cracks me up.
