What do people in -say NYC grow best inside- with Northern light-bright

Probably the same things people grow in any other city with the same
conditions. Ask your neighbors.

I had a north facing window ledge in a breakfast nook once. It got very
good bright indirect light, but never a full beam of sun at any time. I had
about a dozen African violets, a few cyclamen and two ferns in hangers from
the ceiling.......all were very happy and thrived.
