Default Clematis on MailBox

I have a post style wood mailbox about 4' tall or so. It really looks like
the clematis is wanting to grown up much taller than the post. Is there
something you can attach to the top of the post to allow it to grow higher
or should I just let it droop?

Regards,

B.O.
