Default Jackson: rumours of a resurrection may be exaggerated

Without a new album or tour in sight 'Michael Jackson' is nevertheless
one of the most frequently-used search terms on Times Online. What is
behind this upsurge of interest? Only Google can tell us for sure..
Michael Moran

Despite an extended career hiatus, the merest mention of a return from
the self-styled 'King of Pop' brings legions of devoted fans out of the
woodwork. Jackson, who hasn't released an album since 2001, and many
would argue hasn't released a genuinely great album since Bad in 1987,
has but to hint at a comeback for many of those fans to rush to their
computers and begin a great worldwide rush of wild surmise across the
Internet.

Certainly there's a song (No Friend of Mine) on DJ Tempamental's MySpace
which appears to feature the notoriously reclusive singer, but there
seems little hard information behind the notion that this heralds a
relaunch of the star's becalmed career, or more specifically the rebirth
of The Jackson 5 (or perhaps an extended Jackson 7) that is being widely
discussed at present.

The dependably witty No Rock & Roll Fun dismisses the speculation out of
hand, and Walk Talken adds that, even if the rumours were to be true,
most of the brothers would be now too old to execute their signature
dance moves with much elegance.

Perhaps 3D modellers' resource TrueBones might be a better option for
those desperate for fresh Michael Jackson moves, with a computer-rendered
skeleton of the star which can be manipulated according to the user's
whim.
