Default Adenium obesum (Desert Rose) propagation

I have a Desert Rose and would like to propagate it for a friend. I
am trying to root a stem cutting in a clay pot filled with moist
gravel with morning sun, 10 weeks, no roots yet but still looks
healthy. Are seeds the only option for a desert rose?
