Default My Lawnmower - HELP!

Hey there.

Needing a little advice with my lawnmower.

Its a Countax purchased from LLoyds Ltd a few years back.

It has a B&S engine. 13.5hp. serial number - 28S777 1111 - E1 00031.
Chassis number - 00504 3B826 0551 A

The battery has gone to waste from being left in freezing conditions over the winter. The battery to replace is over £60 and would much prefer a cheaper solution to getting the mower going again.

The main question is - Can i purchase and fit a pull cord for the engine? If so, where can i get it?

Thanks all

Default My Lawnmower - HELP!

g'day peter,

not being familiar with teh model of mower but having some b&s
experience i would suggest you need to hunt around mower shops maybe
or look for online engine manual help to see if that model motor also
had a pull cord starter option, most b&s motors did. actually over
here even battery start models had pull cord starters fitted as
standard.

basically you need to be looking for a model engine that has the same
similar cowling/starter mechanism, and replace the current cowling and
or starter with that. it maybe that simple or more complex, but i'd be
talking to mower repair shops or the suppliers of b&s motors.

the model number for the engine should be stamped into the cowling
used to be near the exhaust.

keep us informed
