BUGS IN THE FRUIT
i have a couple of apple trees and one pear tree.......i have no idea what
variety either one is, but there seems to be a decent fruit set on all of them.... unfortuneately, i rarely get to taste the fruit because: 1) the apples don't get very big before they fall off, with all sorts of bug bites over them, and 2) the pears seem to have been *stung* by some bug and rot on the tree.... good news for the yellow jackets that hoover around the tree in the late summer/early fall...bad for me, because i really like pears.... i have been told that i need to spray them... these are fairly big trees.... the pear tree is about 15-18' tall and the apple is at least that tall..... when do i spray them and with what solution.... i like the trees for shade and decoration.... but i would like to get at least a couple of apples and a few pears to munch on.... thanx in advance...... |
