You have bigger problems than you think. Cordyline are not hardy in London.

Cordyline australis 'Sundance', despite what the species epithet may
suggest, is originally from New Zealand not Australia.

The old leaves should fall off all on their own.

Can anyone help with some Yucca advise please.

The botton bits of my outdoor Yucca turned a light dead looking colour
some months ago. It is wilted in appearance, the leaves now drooping.

Are there any disadvantages to taking the unsightly leaves off, or
should I leave them on?

Sorry didn't realise it would make a difference. It seemed like a
Yucca to me, but I believe it's could be a Cordyline Sundance.
Possibly known as an Australian pine. Sorry to be so vague, but it was
inherited in the garden on arrival.

I live in Surrey, very close to London.
