Default Zone 7, Mid-Atlantic, Last Date To Plant Grass Seed

The ground hasn't been prepped yet. Any opinions as to the latest
fall date grass seed can be planted in this area?

TIA

Anytime up to six weeks before the ground freezes. Depending on
the weather and your local microclimate, that generally happens
sometime in December in zone 7; so, mid-October is about as late
as you'd want to plant.
