have had it for 4 or 5 years.... in sand...
wrinkled leaves (on bottom of branches) the sand mix is dry... i water ~
once / week....
should i cut off some of the tops? i don't know whether they need more
water -- or are getting too much? (the wrinkling does not seem to relate
to watering)
i have some jade plants (cloned) (very early stages) (in the same
location) and they get A LOT of water (same frequency) -- they are doing
well... (same mix)
any advice (pertaining to the plant would be greatly appreciated!

You are not telling us enough to have any idea what you may be doing wrong.

Try repotting it in a pot with soil and water thoroughly when you water.

Carefully inspect the plant for inspect damage. Repot the plant in a
a quality potting mix (such as Miracle Gro potting mix) with some sand
added and use a clay pot. During the repotting inspect the roots for
rot/insect damage. After repotting, keep out of the sun with no water
for 2 weeks, then maintain a watering schedule of 2 times a month. Do
not allow the plant to stand in a saucer of water.

thanks for replying...
what have i left out?
(they don't have pests; they are in the same place (light-wise) that they were
in when i got them? -- they are showing new growth)

HOWEVER, i'm not soaking them (i.e. the h2o doesn't go through the drainage
hole)
i watered it / them 2 d/a (not soaking) and they (i think 'they' are 1 plant
-- 4 stems) look a bit better... (plus there is growth)

i'll repot it (also read on the site to use 2 parts drain material: 1 part mix
(is perlite ok?))
(is there any sense in pruning them (it)?)

i have inspected them and had fairly recently repotted the plant(s) (i think
there is 1 plant -- i.e. there are 4 trunks / stems)
will repot in better mix -- think the sand is is too fine -- is perlite ok?
i watered them (it) 2 days ago ... the water does not go through the drain
hole (ever) -- they look a bit better (i think)
(the water has never gone through the pot)

Perlite should work fine if you can't get buildre's sand (course
sand). Jade plants are easy-care plants--lots of light and not too
much water. The leaf edges will turn redish if given enough sunlight.
I recall seeing a blooming jade plant hedge at the Torrance, CA post
office years ago. All of my plants, even cactus, get enough water
until some water leaks out the bottom hole into the saucer. Be
especially careful with a newly-potted succulent--they can easily rot.

my jade plants do not have the reddish borders (1 is pale) so they need more
light... (i'll put them outside for the summer)
