I've lived in Dallas, Austin, Denton, San Antonio, Dallas again, Austin
again, Washington, DC, and San Antonio again, and I've never seen any
kids offering to mow lawns, tho I have seen a few cases of kids mowing
their own lawns.

Well back in NJ and here in Kansas we've had youngsters come by and offer to
mow and do the snow shoveling, too! It's how I have my permanent mower gal
from next door, a foster child. She makes great money and DH being in a
wheelchair, and me with a debilitating bone disease in knees can know that
she is having some responsibility with extra cash for whatever! And we
have a nice looking lawn.
