Default Preventing Branches From Growing Back

I chain sawed some branches this past spring from some white and live oak
trees in my yard.

I noticed new growth branches starting up around the edges of the chain saw
cut this summer.

Is there a product or home remedy that I can apply to the cuts to prevent
new growth from growing ????

Thanks...
