Sending pictures of orchids?

I tried to send a photo of my newly purchased Phal, but the news server said
it was too big. I use a D200, download the picture to the desktop and try to
add it to my message here. Am I not doing something correctly?

Thanks....Chuck.

You need to resize the photos to a manageable pixel size. What do you use
for a photo program?

Diana (no expert here, but someone else will be able to help if they have
the info.)

I load it into Picassa and then try to attach it to this news server. I've
never tried pasting a photo to a news server, so I'm at a loss.

Thanks again....Chuck.

You just have to resize your photos before posting them. I've found that
reducing the resolution to 72 ppi and the longest axis of the photo to 750
pixels serves very well. You probably already have a photo editing program to
do that, but if not, there are several free programs such as Irfan and Agent
which other posters seem to like.
Good luck,

My camera is Nikon D300. I sized my pics around 3x2 inches, 200 ppi. I use
Adobe 2.0 (quite old, but still works well). There are probably many more
recipes for success, but generally smaller pictures go through.
