Does anyone know much about this species. Over here in Australia this
species has been recently appearing in some hybrid crosses from some of the nurseries. What I want to know is when was it discovered ? , is it a variety of another species ? is there a picture of the flower available somewhere ie the Internet . Warren |

I saw one submitted for judging a few years ago here in Michigan. Stunning. But, it was passed because everybody was pretty sure it wasn't a legal plant. I'm not convinced of that, myself (could have come in before CITES), but that was the thought. Lots of information here (and other new 'species' - some of which are varieties IMHO) http://www.orchid.or.jp/orchid/peopl.../newpaph6.html Those pictures don't do it justice. The one we saw was similar to adductum with an almost jet black dorsal sepal.
