Does anyone know much about this species. Over here in Australia this
species has been recently appearing in some hybrid crosses from some of the
nurseries. What I want to know is when was it discovered ? , is it a variety
of another species ? is there a picture of the flower available somewhere ie
the Internet .

I saw one submitted for judging a few years ago here in Michigan.
Stunning. But, it was passed because everybody was pretty sure it
wasn't a legal plant. I'm not convinced of that, myself (could have
come in before CITES), but that was the thought.

Those pictures don't do it justice. The one we saw was similar to
adductum with an almost jet black dorsal sepal.
