Default root 1/2 way up stem?

I have a 6"Kiekie EPI. STAR VALLEY 'Nalo' that is thriving but is sending down a root 3" from the base. what should i do? Ignore or maybe this would be a great cork slab candidate. If so what size slab. If a plant is ever to be show specimen- it should only be 1 keiki, right? I have 2.
