http://www.orchidseed.com/ has a lot of recipes: Click "Technical Data"
(lots of good stuff there!), click
"The media formulation (...)", look for medias tagged as
"Homebrew/improvised medium".

But, if you live in the USA it should be far better to buy cheap prof.
media...
(In this my mini country (Denmark, Europe) getting prof. media is expensive
and/or a lot of work...)

I haven't flasked in a while, but I always bought media. It isn't
always so trivial to purchase it here, either. I have a bit of an
advantage in that I work at a university in a biochemistry department.
But it can be difficult to get some companies to ship (even benign
chemicals) to domestic addresses. I suspect that it is possible to buy
these things 'repackaged' by various vendors, but this always adds
substantially to the cost.

Anyway, for the home flasker on a budget, who doesn't want to mess
with red tape, the homebrew way might be a good way to go. I bet it is
especially good for locales which don't have quite the resources we do,
like most of the countries where the orchids we want come from.

2) There is always room for two more orchids
2a. See rule 1
3) When one has insufficient credit to purchase
more orchids, obtain more credit

Is it really that much harder to order from Duchefa
(www.duchefa.com) in the Netherlands?

E-mail address in the header doesn't work. Spam trap. Sorry.
