But, if you live in the USA it should be far better to buy cheap prof. media... (In this my mini country (Denmark, Europe) getting prof. media is expensive and/or a lot of work...) I haven't flasked in a while, but I always bought media. It isn't always so trivial to purchase it here, either. I have a bit of an advantage in that I work at a university in a biochemistry department. But it can be difficult to get some companies to ship (even benign chemicals) to domestic addresses. I suspect that it is possible to buy these things 'repackaged' by various vendors, but this always adds substantially to the cost. Anyway, for the home flasker on a budget, who doesn't want to mess with red tape, the homebrew way might be a good way to go. I bet it is especially good for locales which don't have quite the resources we do, like most of the countries where the orchids we want come from. Rob -- Rob's Rules: http://www.msu.edu/~halgren 1) There is always room for one more orchid 2) There is always room for two more orchids 2a. See rule 1 3) When one has insufficient credit to purchase more orchids, obtain more credit |

Is it really that much harder to order from Duchefa (www.duchefa.com) in the Netherlands? E-mail address in the header doesn't work. Spam trap. Sorry. Cheers, -AJHicks Chandler, AZ |
