Default oncidium star wars VS sugar sweet angel

Hi all,
Are these two names used interchangably for the same plant? To me the
flowers look a like (yellow with red dots).
Thanks

Nope, Oncidium Star Wars and Oncidium Sweet Sugar ('Angel" is simply a
cultivar of it) are totally different hybrids, however the species Onc.
varicosum plays a very large role in the background of each, which can
explain the similarity.

Now you see why identifying a plant by observing the blossom can be so
futile!
