Default Burlap as temporary shade cloth

Does anyone know what the %shade of burlap is? I will be using some for
shading (before it goes down on a slope I'm reseeding), and want to know
approximately how much shade I'm getting.

It would vary on the type of Burlap. Here is some info on shading in
general and emergency use of Burlap. One thing you will note is the
use of a Light Meter to check on the shading provided & light level
resulting from the shade depending on external light intensity.

Good luck!

I am not picking up Dave's link.. But my two cents say it is apt
to be dense enough you will have to look to the movement of the
sun and the shade cast before you place you plants in 10 am shade
only to find them in full sun at 1 or 2. Good luck.
