Moving Fish in Cold Weather?
http://weloveteaching.com/puregold/c...tm#MOVING_FISH
"Sean Kerns" wrote: Hi all, I have a small backyard pond (7'x5'x2'deep) in southwestern Ohio. Temperatures were ranging in the 40's or even lower 50's, but lately, it's been in the 20's and 30's. Anyway, I will be moving soon to Indianapolis, about 2 hours north and west of me, and of course, I want to take my fish. I don't have another pond dug yet, and probably won't until next spring at the earliest, so I'm figueing on keeping them on a stock tank till then. My question is about taking them out of the water and transporting them. Can they be safely moved when it's this cold? I understand some of them might now make the trip; but I want to maximize my chances. Or can I not even touch them this time of year. They've been awake and moving around, no ice on the pond at all so far this year.
