Hurricane Isabel's possible path

Well, kids, it may be time to think about storm preparation. I just saw the
latest 5-day forecast track for Hurricane Isabel at NOAA's website
http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/grap...151738.shtml?, and
it's not pretty! Apparently, there's a possibility that Isabel could affect
a large part of the Northeastern US and Canada(!).

BTW, if the link above doesn't seem to work, try adding a question mark (?)
after .shtml -- it's in the URL on my screen, but not showing up as part
of the link for some reason.

Current projected path will have several of us pretty close to center from
here to Buffalo. Joann, BV, Greg and any others that I missed, good luck,

I'm keeping track of Isabel very closely. You 'east coasters' do the same.
I'm near St. Louis, Missouri so I'm not in any physical danger. My heart

I would be a good idea from what the folks in Texas said about the one that
came their way earlier this year, also the fact that you could see
significant rain you might want to make sure the overflow is working and
screened to keep fish from heading down stream. Be safe and good luck.

I would net the ponds to keep some things in and other things out.

Thanks for linking it I goofed! I have been fishing many times on that
pier. My sister and a bunch of nieces and their kids live in Virginia

niece that lives 2 block from the ocean there and with a predicted storm
surge of 7-11 ft if it hits on high tide could be a disaster. Got an
email and it is the calm before the storm a beautiful day in Virginia
Beach. PS at times miss living in Onalaska Washington across White Pass

I have to do final yard prep tonight. I've been waiting to see what
would happen with Isabel before deciding what extent of storm proofing
the yard/house would need.

Hopefully, this storm does not bring the power outages that Fran brought
us. We were without power for five days with Fran which is a real
problem when you have an idiot for a (then) husband and a well. He went
around draining the bathtubs that I had filled because I was "being
ridiculous and paranoid". No power for five days = no water for five
days. Yeah, I was ridiculous by trying to have some additional water
supply in the house. My current house is on city water. *smile*

Oh well, the next few days could be interesting here in NC and on the
east coast in general. Batten the hatches and I hope everyone stays safe.
