Google has almost 200,000 pages that address that very subject, and even
instructions on how to make non-toxic pesticides.

Best, safest solution is to squirt them off with
a hose.

A temporary solution that needs to be repeated frequently. Insecticidal
soaps made from dish soap or commercially purchased such as:
http://www.saferbrand.com/landscape/landscape3.htm

Also investigate the possibility of beneficial insects in your area.

The insecticidal soaps also need to be applied frequently, they have no
residuial impact. These products kill the insects by means of suffocation
and must be applied directly to the critters.
