Good book on rose propagation?
I'm interested in propagating roses from seeds, cuttings, layering, and air
layering. Is there a good book on the subject with lots of detailed illustrations? Thanks in advance. George Roberts |

George Roberts There's a great book by Peter Beales, called simply "Roses". I think the last edition came out in 2001, but am not sure. There is a chapter in the back re propagation, etc. I've found second-hand books a cheap, easy way to get info. Many books on roses have a chapter or section on the subject. Also, check out the following sites within the Univ. of Washington: Elisabeth C. Miller Library: Home Page depts.washington.edu/hortlib/ Center for Urban Horticulture ~ University of Washington depts.washington.edu/urbhort/ They have links/tabs where you can ask for information, or ask for source material. They're really helpful and a great resource. Hope this helps. |

George Roberts Ortho's "Complete Guide to Roses" has a pretty good explanation of the different processes and should be fairly easy to find, if you're in the USA or Canada. Elsewhere - I dunno. George Roberts Search the internet first, before buying a book, there are plenty of websites that describe how to propagate roses.
