FS: Old Agriculture Books, $4 each
I currently have for sale the following old agriculture-related books,
available for $4 each. Postage within the US is $2.50 for the first book, and $1 for each additional item (Media Mail; postage at cost elsewhere). The books a United States Department of Agriculture "Soils & Men, Yearbook of Agriculture 1938" US GPO, 1938. The 1232 page hardbound book is in near fine condition, clean with no page tears or pen marks, and a strong binding. Green cloth covers with black lettering on the front cover and spine. This is a particularly nice copy of the 1938 handbook of agriculture. U.S. Department of Agriculture "Land, The Yearbook of Agriculture 1958" U.S. GPO, 1958. The 605 page hardbound book is in fine condition, fresh and clean inside and out. US Department of Agriculture "Food, The Yearbook of Agriculture 1959" US GPO, 1959. The 736 page hardbound book is in very good condition, clean with no page tears or pen marks except for a stamp on the first blank end page. U.S. Department of Agriculture "Farmer's World, The Yearbook of Agriculture 1964" U.S. GPO, 1964. The 592 page hardbound book is in fine condition, fresh and clean inside and out. There is a gift stamp inside the front cover from Congressman George Grant of Alabama. US Department of Agriculture "Consumers All, The Yearbook of Agriculture 1965" US GPO, 1965. The 496 page hardbound book is in very good condition, clean with no page tears or pen marks. US Department of Agriculture "Food for Us All, The Yearbook of Agriculture 1969" US GPO, 1969. The 360 page hardbound book is in very good condition, clean with no page tears or pen marks. U.S. Department of Agriculture "New Crops, New Uses, New Markets; 1992 Yearbook of Agriculture" US GPO, 1992. The 302 page hardbound book is in very good condition, clean with no page tears or pen marks, and a strong binding. Pictorial cloth covers. Mellon, Margaret; Charles Benbrook; Karen Lutz Benbrook "Hogging It! Estimates of Antimicrobial Abuse in Livestock" Union od Concerned Scientists, 2001. The 109 page softbound book is in near mint condition, fresh and clean inside and out. Heath, Maurice E. (editor); Metcalfe, Darrel S. (editor); Barnes, Robert F. (editor) "Forages : The Science of Grassland Agriculture" Ames, IA, U.S.A.: Iowa State University Press, 1980. Third edition. The 755 page hardbound book is in about very good condition. There are several passages in two of the chapters neatly underlined in red pen. otherwise in very nice condition. Black, John Donald "Introduction to Economics for Agriculture" Macmillan Company, 1953. The 727 page hardbound book is in good+ condition. It is an ex-library copy with the usual stamps, stickers, and a card pouch inside the rear cover. Hutcheson, T.B. and T.K. Wolfe "The Production of Field Crops, A Textbook of Agronomy" McGraw-Hill, 1924. The 499 page hardbound book is in very good condition, clean with no page tears or pen marks except for a previous owners name inside the front cover. A nice early text on farming and agriculture practices. Buck, Solon J. "The Agrarian Crusade, A Chronicle of the Farmer in Politics" Yale University Press, 1920. The 215 page hardbound book is in fine condition, fresh and clean inside and out. Published as part of the Yale University Press "Chronicles of America" series. Green cloth covers with intricate gold designs embossed on the covers, and gold gilt on the page tops. Very nice. Sampson, Arthur W. "Range and Pasture Management" John Wiley & Sons, 1923. The 421 page hardbound book is in near fine condition, fresh and clean inside and out except for a previous owners name inside the front cover.
