Default porterweed seeds?

Does anyone know how to collect seeds from a purple porterweed plant? It
seems like there is nothing left behind when the flowers fall. Thanks.

No I do not know how to collect the seeds. I am looking to purchase plants in the spring in the Austin, Texas, area. Anyone know a nursery stocking Blue Porterweed?

Is it a native plant? Texas Grown Plants on 290West will likely carry
it. I would call The Natural Gardener, Barton Creek Nursery and Texas
Grown Plants (288-0806). These are all south so I can't help you if you
live north.

HTH!

If you still need to know how to collect seeds from porterweed?
I can try to attach some pictures. I haven't done the purple or red yet but on the coral or salmon, wait until the flower stalk is dry and brown and remove from plant. along the stem, there are small brown scale looking things. These are the pods. You can use your fingers but I prefer a stick pin. I put the stick behind the pod and pull it out. Sometimes the seed will fall out at this point and sometimes you have to remove it from the hull.
You can get a better idea if the pictures come through.

BTW, They will only contain seeds if the were pollinated. Some may be empty.
