Default bamboo

The bamboos on my property have become a problem so I have cut them off to a
height of 20cm's as suggested on the label of the Roundup bottle.I have
poured the neat roundup down the hollow stems as suggested. How long will it
take before the roots are killed as I need to dig them out and plant some
fruit trees.

Hoping somone can assist

Thank you
d.s.
