Default daffs with yellow leaves

My daffodils which have come up blind in my (acidic, clay, soggy, over fed
with chicken manure) garden have stripy yellow in the leaves. I know that
this is lack of iron - would that fit with the idea that my soil now has too
much nitrogen from all the chicken manure I've put on it? Will watering in
iron and pot ash help to get the shrubs, annuals and perennials (mainly
mallows, roses, astilbies (sp) and St Johns Wort) flowering this year?
Thanks in advance,
Hayley
