Venus fly trap
Hi everyone
Does anyone else here grow a venus fly trap? I have one and it has two flower stems on it - one about 14in and the other about 12in (in=inches) I'm asking because it Autumn is on its way and I wondered what other people did with theirs over the winter. I have been told that it should be put somewhere cold to stop it from trying to grow. Is this the case? Many thanks Pete |

Many thanks Pete you shouldn't really let them flower as it weakens the plant. they go dormant over the winter, keep it some where cool and keep the peat moist not wet, don't sit it in water. Paul. |

Hiya Yes I suppose I should not of let it grow the way it did as at the time there were plenty of flies in the compost bin to keep it well fed. But now the weather has cooled off I'm having to catch the flies myself! Pete |
