Does this tree grow in the UK?
Anyone growing one or know of a specimen that has survived outside, i.e..
not in a large greenhouse?
Any information on it's hardiness etc from those with experience of it
gratefully received.

No direct experience but it looks like you might be in luck.
This chap in London seems to have success

My uncle brought a few tiny saplings back from Australia and planted
them on his farm in West Yorkshire. They definitely survived for years
the last time I went there but we have all moved away now so I don't
know if they are still alive.

In West Yorkshire! Certainly colder than around these parts and probably
below -2°C which is said to be their limit, sounds like they may be hardier
than I at first thought, wonderful news.
I might just have to look into this further. :-)

Yes that's what I've seen before--ab fab. Incidentally UKoasis is an
invaluable resource for this type of query. David Poole pops up occasionally
and I post there under a different name (just to cause confusion):-)
