Brachychiton acerifolius
Does this tree grow in the UK?
Anyone growing one or know of a specimen that has survived outside, i.e.. not in a large greenhouse? Any information on it's hardiness etc from those with experience of it gratefully received. -- Regards Bob H 17mls W. of London.UK |

They definitely survived for years the last time I went there but we have all moved away now so I don't know if they are still alive. -- Steve Wolstenholme Neural Planner Software EasyNN-plus. Certainly colder than around these parts and probably below -2°C which is said to be their limit, sounds like they may be hardier than I at first thought, wonderful news. I might just have to look into this further. :-) -- Regards Bob H 17mls W. of London.UK |

Incidentally UKoasis is an invaluable resource for this type of query. David Poole pops up occasionally and I post there under a different name (just to cause confusion):-) |
