Soil Test Kits/Meters

I have one of those inexpensive combined moisture/ph testing meters. The ph
meter doesn't seem to work very well, so I was wondering if a more expensive
ph meter would work (by expensive, I mean about £15). Does anyone have any
experience with these, and do they work?
