The bulb comes in countless shades of yellows, reds and pinks. However, the blue tulip remains elusive. The shape of the flowers also vary, from traditional upright single petals, to frilly twisting petals, to open double blooms. Tulips can also comes in dwarf varieties, that are ideal for planters and window boxes. Daffodils like tulips come in various shapes and sizes, but wth a more restricted colour palette. Daffodils will do well in most types of moist soil, but the best type of soil for them, is limey. Light dappled shade under trees or in full are the best locations to plant the bulbs. If the Daffodils are on a lawn, once the flowers are finished, leave the dead leaves for approx 5 weeks before cutting back Recommended Tulips Queen of Night - A very deep purple flowerhead, with individual petals, late spring flowering. Peach Blossom - Double petals in dusty pink, early spring flowering. Daffodils Passionale - A large cupped daffodil that is creamy white rather than the classic yellow.
