Default plum tree leaves and branches blackening..

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this ? it appears to also
cause the leaves to droop and extend along the ends of the branches - whilst
I have lots of fruit, I am anxious this blackening may ruin the tree and
fruit ?

I would be most grateful for any advice

Regards,

Jim
