Exclamation Palm tree bugs

We have a B. Capitata tree that is overrrun with a scale like insect

Its even way down in the crack and crevices, and I can't find anything to rid my poor tree of it HELP!!!

I've heard of organocide, but will it work and where can I get it?

If not, then malathion it is!!!

yes looks like scale insects to me too have a look at

Thanks, but the over the counter sprays aren't really strong enough for mature palms, where can I get strength that will take care of these?

Melathion is a waste of shelf space.

Your bug certainly looks like scale insect.

I have not been in a garden centre since the EEC legislated against many of the smaller companies without the financial clout to respond to all their requirements. Even then I found the vast majority of garden centre garden chemicals were about as useful as going to the chemists without a prescription when you've got malaria! At the time I found the most useful 'Garden Centre' sprays were 'Dithane 945' and 'Roseclear3' but neither of these will trouble any type of scale insect.

Insecticidal soap used to be quite efficient against scale insect but I've no idea whether it's still available. A diluted wash with Jeyes fluid would cure the problem but I think that's also no longer available. Rinse well afterwards - just in case.

You need to find a systemic spray containing the active ingredient Dimethoate on the garden shelves. Failing these email me.
