Decorative Roots
One isn't used to think of roots from an aesthetic point of view,
because they're not usually visible I've got a large handsome clear glass bottle about 3 ft high with a narrow neck - 6"diamater - and a good solid base about 2 ft diameter which is crying out to be used for some spectacular plant. To use ordinary soil would, I think, be a shame. So far I have filled the bottom third with nice black and white pebbles, and some moisture retaining pellets while I consider what to do next. Maybe try hydroponics? If the roots are going to be visible, it would be good if they were interesting to look at. Any suggestions? Ken |
