Sadly, nothing new. If you look at the Wollemi Pine in Wakehurst, you'll
find it's "in jail" to deter those with sticky fingers.

A couple of years ago Ventnor Botanic Gardens microchipped tree ferns due to
continued theft.

In this case, it is a plant that I think you can just buy in garden
centres or buy seed from the usual places. What a waste. It really
makes me sad when this happens.
