If there is anyone in the East Cornwall/West Devon area who would be
interested in joining a discussion group geared to Self Sufficiency/
Self Support please join the google group 'Smallholders and Self
Supporters'.

I am aware that there are already a great number of discussion groups
that discuss these subjects however they tend to be very large,
covering a huge range of topics and with members geographically very
spread out.

My aim is to bring together people in the LOCAL AREA with a common
interest in SELF SUFFIENCY. Firstly through the discussion group and
later if support is there, through the setting up of a cooperative,
association, group or similar.

It matters not whether you have 100's of acres or not even a window
box - its not just about growing food. Everyone has a skill or skills
that can be used to become more self sufficient - these skills can be
shared, ideas exchanged, products, food and skills can be bartered.

Just a few points on using the group;

- Please keep your posts family friendly.
- Please do not post links to websites unless they are properly
relevant to the interests of the group - links to innapropriate sites
will result in posts being edited or removed.
- Do not post adverts or links to adverts without checking with me
first - this is not an advertising platform.

If you do decide to join the group, please start by letting us know a
bit about yourselves, your particular area of interest(s), what your
goals might be and as much other information that you think might be
of interest to other members - just remember that this is a public
group so think carefully before adding personal information such as
telephone numbers, e-mail adress, postal address etc.
