Cutting the dross

Has anyone noticed the great reluctance to snip postings to just the
relevant remarks?

It seems that some people are incapable of cutting all but the important
bits, the bits they are replying to.

Why? Lack of newsgroup or forum education?

Possibly not knowing how to do it!!!!! All to keen to shove fingers to
keyboard and poke out a one line reply, but not too keen on what the person
thinks about the dross they have to scroll down through :-((

You look and see what I mean.

See if I am not correct..........once again :-((

Kindest regards

Mike

Well Mike,

As you see I have cut the 'dross' from your post and suggest the best thing
would be for you to give up posting and give us all a break.

I'd like to point out to other users of this group that not all people
living on the Isle of Wight are like 'Mike', some of us are quite normal.

I'd also like to say that I am familiar with Heath Road in Lake where our
friend lives and don't recognise it from his rather fanciful description!

Kindest regards

'Andrew'

How nice. Now the question is, can the others on this newsgroup follow your
example, and mine, of cutting dross? (You will of course notice that I have
cut the other dross from your posting)

Kindest possible regards

Mike

Now let's see if dross cutting is the order of the day.

people who are incapable of 'snipping'. You watch and see what I mean :-))

Agreed. For some reason he does this with most of his replies - makes them

Never. People prefer to keep the whole message so that the meaning
is not changed or manipulated.

It seems that some people are incapable of cutting all but the important

You can also ignore messages or delete them. No one forces you to read

Why?

Why what? See how moving words or deleting others can change a
message!

Lack of newsgroup or forum education?

There is no such thing. Don't confuse a forum and a newsgroup.
